“For a story about love and relationships, I spent an awful lot of time researching avalanche terms. How could you not want to use phrases like: Depth Hoar, Tension Zone, and Bed Surface? Sluff did make it in, which delights me even if avalanche scientists will probably yell at me that I used it wrong.”
